The musical is a series of vignettes based on the famous Peanuts comic strip. Through the vignettes, we come to know the personalities of all of the characters in the play -- all of their quirks, weaknesses, and strengths. The main focus is on Charlie Brown, a little boy full of self doubt, fear, and hope. With the help of his friends he learns to accept his own shortcomings and the humanity in others.

YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN (Revised) was presented on Broadway in 1999 and played for 149 performances at the Ambassador Theatre with award-winning performances by Roger Bart and Kristin Chenoweth as Snoopy and Sally. Originally, YOU’RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN opened on March 7, 1967 and played for 1,597 performances in New York at the theatre 80 St. Marks with Gary Burghoff in the title role. That version was revived on Broadway in 1971 and played for 32 performances at the John Golden Theatre.

We will be performing this musical in Springfield, VT. It is produced by the theatrical organization called Springfield Community Players. The organization's mission is for the purpose of creating and sustaining an interest in the arts and particularly fostering the development of community theater; providing opportunities for the development of skills in all phases of theater including drama, dance, reading, music, and the art of staging and set design; and presenting theatrical works for the enjoyment and instruction of the public.
