Parker Eastman & The Perennials are based out of Southern Vermont. We play a number of different styles; but, we mainly play Jazz Standards from the 1930's to the late 1940's era. Our ensemble size ranges from Solo Piano/Vocal through the full 10-11 Piece Big Band.
Our leader, Parker Eastman, started this band when he was in middle school. He and his friends wanted to bring back an era of music that helped influence the modern music we have today. Since then, the group consists of over 100 musicians throughout New England. Each musician brings their own style to the group.
Ever since the band started, we have always wanted to create memories for our audience. Although we mainly play Jazz Standards, our clients like that our performance gives a sound and feeling of a simpler time. We enjoy many different styles of music but we stay grounded in Jazz because it has a very romantic sound. (We also play Pop, Rock, Funk, and many other styles!)
The ensemble has played for many different venues and many different areas. Because of this, we are able to travel all over Vermont, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts. We've played for Nursing Homes, Festivals, Art Galleries, Concerts, and many other venues. When we play for our clients, it isn't just a job; we like making sure that everyone is having a good time. It's nice to know that we are bringing joy and creating memories for the audience.
A Little About Our Leader
When Parker isn't playing his own gigs, he plays in a variety of community bands such as the Claremont American Band and The Upper Valley Community Band. He also fills in for one of his mentors bands, The East Bay Jazz Ensemble. Parker is very well versed in playing all types of instruments. He started playing the recorder in the 4th grade, piano & trombone in the 5th grade, and now he presently plays 78 instruments inclusive of woodwinds, brass, strings, piano/keyboard, & percussion. He arranges, orchestrates, and composes all different types of music genres for The Perennials as well as many other bands, orchestras, choirs, etc.
